On Sunday morning in Monroe, the 8th Grade Girls bracket matched up the Snohomish Panthers and Mountlake Terrace Hawks. The Panthers were on fire in the first half, scoring 22 points in the first quarter to take a ten point lead, and another 18 points in the second quarter to take a 20 point lead into halftime.
During a much closer second half, however, the Hawks made their adjustments and began eating into the Snohomish lead. But as the quarter wore on, the Hawks could not keep up their energy, and in the last minute of the 3rd quarter, the Panthers increased their lead again by two points, 50-32, and they added another five points to it in the low-scoring fourth. Final score, 57-34, Panthers.
